Scott Arford "Sleepless" C44 [CH-332]
Scott Arford is a master of dense electronic works, from his capacitor-fried subterranean rhythmic explorations as Radiosonde (Meter Sickness being an essential communique on this front), to frequency-intensive forays under his own name with the likes of Francisco Lopez, Randy Yau and Michael Nine. He continues to shape static bursts, glitches and interference into evolving forms while dead weight is cast off as these pieces evolve through sheer force. On "Sleepless" the restless energy of stifling late nights has been harnessed into pure atmosphere torpidly moving in, through and around collapsing drum machines.
